I don't know if u guys saw this but I think you should. I'm not trying to promote another website, but i saw this on M5board and think that we should all take a look at this and hopefully take a sign on what we can learn from this tragedy.

The person driving was a member of M5board who had just joined the forum after getting an M5 at the very young age of 18. I myself know more than four 18 year olds with M's and IMO think its like their walking around with loaded guns. At my age of 22 i still think i'm to young to have such a great responsibility of driving such a beast, but its story's like this that will hopefully slow us all down and teach us that life is to precious to mess with. My deapest condolences go out to the lost young ones and their families.

Very very sad to hear... I pray that their family can find the strength to deal with this tragedy...

This is very old, and the M5 was actually his father's car. May they rest in peace!

I stand corrected. Fathers or not, still counts as a loaded gun.

It was the decisions he made that lead to the outcome, not the fact that he had an M5. Any car in that same situation would've lead to the same outcome. My cousin has had his E60 M5 since 16 (he is now 18) and hasn't been in any major accidents. Myself and 3 of my friends are all 22 or younger with E60 M5s and have not had any accidents (knock on wood). Age and a high performance car are not a recipe for disaster...Immaturity and a high performance car, however, is.

Wow.. didnt know there were so many guys out there around my age (23) with Mbeasts!!! In london here im in the only one with an M (other then an old grey haired fella with an Intergolos Blue, and a shweeetie with an Alpine White) and i feel pretty damn fortunate to be driving such a powerful prestine preforamce machine. Mind you.. i drive aggresive, whether it be in my diesel pickup, vette or the Mbeast.. But its about control and keeping the people around you safe.

My advice, if your young and havent had a automotive atmosphere to grow up in ( driving go-karts at 4, cars at 9 and heavy equipment all my life) then take some time to LEARN how to truly drive, go with a professional and you will be ASTONISHED at what you learn!

My buddy is the lead instructor for Porsche Canada, and riding with him is like a lesson in driving perfection!!

Ciao!
