I'm sure this has been discussed in this forum before but I couldn't seem to locate it. If I were to replace the stock 17" rims and tires on our 530XI - what types of issues with sizing am I going to encounter? I've sent one or two emails to suppliers and have gotten the answer back "We don't stock rims for the XI"

I've not decided on 18 or 19 rims yet but would opt for the 166 style if did. I understand that they wouldn't be OEM if I went with 18's.

If this has been discussed in detail, I apologize..if you could drop me the link that would be great.

Try this: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...l=wheel+offset#
also search on "wheel offset".

You can also go to http://www.realoem.com to check what wheels will work with your Xi. Good Luck!

I have 19"x8.5 rims on my 530xi and using 245/35/19 tires all around. The offset I believe is 43mm. This combination works fine on the car except I will get some rubbing when turning the steering all the way to one side like making a U-turn. But hey, how often will you turn the wheels all the way!

Now are the bad parts. Because the offset of the rim is so high for the XI model, the lip on the wheel will be much thinner than what you would expect. And because of the slight rubbing, it's not possible to lower the car to eliminate the big gap between the fender and the tire.

And lastly, be sure to have the same wheel and tire size all around because the AWD system wouldn't work perfectly if you go staggered.

I've promised some members here before that I will post some pics of my car but I was too lazy. I promise I'll do that in this couple of days!

Hey VIIV, from your avatar your car was built on Sep 05 but was delivered on May 06. Why did it take so long for the car to be delivered?

166's would be lovely on xi's but don't think it would be possible.

I have OEM 18" 135's on my car. It are my stock wheels. But they are different from the others.
Check this http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=other+135 for more information.

I have a 2007 530XI and after researching wheels for two months, I found out that knowbody has the perfect answer. I ended up going with 18X8 style 135m wheels because the 18's are the largest BMW supposedly will sell for the XI's. You can go with 19's and there are a lot of success stories and nice pictures available in the forum. You have to be careful with the offset and BMW recommends running the same size all around. Supposedly staggered sets will mess up the xdrive. I bought my wheels from Gary at BMW of Newport (that's R.I.) not Cal. and e60 members get a 25% discount. He was great to work with and knew more than anyone about fitment for the XI's. Stick with OEM and check him out!

It seems like contradictory advice that staggered wheels would compromise the Xdrive system, when the X5 4.6 and 4.8 are offered with staggered wheels/tires and it is the same system. Just a thought.

Could any of you that have the style #123 on your 530xi please post a few pics. I am debating whether or not to go with the style #124 or the #123 for my 06 530xi.

Easy answer...I didn't order mine. I bought it off the floor, and got a very good deal and finance rate. My car was traded I think two times, so they were eager. If I had ordered, I would have gone black over auburn, manual, sport. But I just couldn't walk away from the deal. Call me cheap. Sorry for

I have the 123 wheels on my car. No pics yet, but I plan on loading some up this weekend. However, I'm about to upgrade to 19's. I decided to go with Axis Penta wheels. After much debate on replica's, I decided it's just not worth it. This is the look I'm going for. I spoke to H&R and I'm going to do 5-10mm spacers in the rear to push the wheels out.

I'll post pix soon! Promise!

PS - I love the 123's b/t/w. They're going to be a great winter wheel. Now I just need winter tires.
