Is a wheels weight really going to have a big difference in the long run if someones rims are 4lb's lighter?

That's 16 lbs. difference altogether ... + your floor mats.

Yes, research unsprung mass vs sprung mass...and take out your floormats.

Yes! Reducing unsprung weight and rotational mass has a big effect on performance. More so than saving weight from doing things like stripping out the back seat.

Lighter wheels with less rotational mass will allow your car to accelerate faster, brake better, and have less wear and tear on your suspension.

EuroCarFan posted almost exactly what I was going to say. Saving 4 lbs per wheel is not like taking 16 lbs of weight out thats sitting in ur trunk. The Rotational Inertia as well as the unsprung weight makes a noticable difference on acceleration, braking, ride quality, and handling.

I'm glad everyone likes it! We try to not just sell things but help the community a well

Yes... and the right set up can take a lot more than 4lbs off. Although BMW offers a few light weight forged wheels most are cast and can weigh up to 30 pounds for an 18" wheel. If you replace a 30 pound wheel with a forged 20 pound wheel that's 10 pounds a corner, 40 pounds for four, and a 33% reduction in unsprung weight. Changing from heavy run flats to normal tires saves even more weight. It really makes a difference. After experiencing the effect first hand I will never replace OEM wheels again without reducing weight.

Nice idea! I guess this info is available from most wheel sites, but the visual comparison amongst manufacturers is appealing.

I wonder if some wheels sacrifice durability for weight? I am sure there is not a direct correlation because of the varying manufacturing processes, but I would guess that there are some light/performance wheels that sacrifice strength.

Since different wheel offsets can cause substantial variances in weights within the same model wheel, are these weights for E60 specific fitment? If not, are all the wheels being compared of the exact same fitment and offset?
