I thought 16 inches would not fit on a e60?

I am getting a second set of 124 wheels, probably the 18" front wheel size for better snow traction. From Tire Rack I ordered Dunlop M3's.

What has been people's experience with the 17" All Seasons that come on the 530 (and now 525) without Sport Package?

They wont fit the 545i at least.. ours is a 520i and has smaller brakes.. however, there isn't too much space between the discs and the rim

How is your rear setup with the 245/40-18 on the wider rear rims?
My dealer says I don't want to do that.

Well I normally run Blizzak snows here in the Cleveland winter on my previous BMW's.
For those friends from around the world, Cleveland is on the North coast of the US, boardering Canada seperated by the Great Lakes. Modo lake effect snow during the winter.

When I bought my 545 , I had some problems with active steering ( I know coments for a differant thread ) and also the run flat tires. I opted for a standard set-up which comes with Conti
All Season 17" . I'll pleasently happy with the results , after adding a couple of sand bags in the trunk . We had a very severe snow storm last week and the 545 had no problem, not as grippy
as with snows, but not bad at all I didn't get stuck.

My garage looks like a Tire Rack warehouse, I have 2 other complete sets of snows , but they are 15" and 16 " and won't fit the 545. I plan on buying some nice 18" or 19 " summer wheels and rims, and will mount 17 " snows on the stock 116 rims for next year. At least I will have some miles on the Conti's and won't feel so bad replacing them so soon.

Well there's my set-up so far, I know it's still early in the winter season, but the car worked great
during a very bad storm, I hope it continues.
