My Ride: 2010 E63 AMG -- Palladium Silver/Black. Love this car but looking to switch things up to keep things fresh. 2nd AMG in a row, but toying with coming back into the BMW fold!

What should I expect to pay for a set of M3's with rims? $2,000 installed?

Depends on the size (17" vs 18"). I bought a set of type 138 (17" OEM rims) from BMW of Richmond, VA for 15% off of MSRP which was approx. $450 less after shipping and tax than what my local dealer was charging. All in, I beleive, I paid about $1,750, but don't quote me. I bought them back in Late-Oct.

The M3's are great once you are going. However, I found that on a 545i, getting initial traction is the toughest part especially in deep snow (8"+). I might attribute a little of this to the fact that I have a much lighter (25 Lbs) after-market exhaust system that may effect how much weight is over the rear tires.

Good luck!

Nah, I carry about 50 pounds of crap in my trunk and initial traction is still the biggest issue, even with the Pilot Alpins.
