My Ride: '05 545i Sport Package 6-speed, cold weather package, premium sound

I just spoke to tirereack to order a winter wheel/tire package and the rep there recommended the Pirelli W210 Snowsports for my 545 sport. Anyone have any experience with these tires? I am looking for a good combination of performance handling with excellent snow/slush/ice traction and good tread wear. I am going to be mounting these on 17" rims. Any other recommendations or good experiences with other tires in the snow?

I think the M3's are sold out most places. But i would definitely try to get them, they are great.

What should I expect to pay for a set of M3's with rims? $2,000 installed?

Dunlop Winter Sport M3's are great. I used them on my winter 18" BMW 124 wheeels from bmwwheels.com. I drove through NE Indiana just after a blizzard and they were great on snow covered roads. They also work well on clear roads in the winter. I highly recommend them.

I'm running Michelin Pilot Alpins right now and am Quite Satisfied. No issues to date. Good in the snow and still good in the dry.
I ran Pirelli 210's on previous cars and had good luck with them as well although that was a few years ago. I'm not sure if they changed the compund or anything.
I did find that they wore quickly on my M3 (but that proably had a lot to do with me having to look out the side windows while driving.
