We are moving to Colorado. I am going to need to get a winter setup, and am wondering if Winter tires do better on 18" rims. Any opinions.

I don;t even think they make winter tires for 19" 545....i tihnk the smaller the rims the more tire there is the better for the car during snow....

I use even 17" for my winter setup. Probably 18" is OK as well handling wise, for
me however safety is the most important aspect during winter driving.

On my good ol' 740i sport I have the OEM M Par 18" staggered wheel set for summer. For winter I bought a set of 18" M Par replicas - not staggered - with Blizzak LM-22s. I figured it was better to not have the fat rear wheels in the snow.

This winter set-up works great here in Chicago.

I plan to use these same 18" winter wheels and tires on my E60.
