I guess we're done with this poll ??

The Dunlop m3s have it !!!!

Well...based on this poll it would seem they're the most popular amongst E60 owners.

I guess I'll go with the Dunlops !!

Just curious...let see what you guys went with for the winter!

And by the way...if you live in SoCal..or Texas.....This doesn't apply to you....'cause I know how you guys like to rub it in.....like...Ohh...its so hot here!!! or Winter tires..what are those?.....
Semperits (now part of Continental, I think) left over from my E39 540 6 spd. Beginning their third season and doing just fine. Set of 4 (speed rated) were about $600 mounted, however, have never since seen them in US.

Cheers,

I'm curious to know something though...

Has anyone had the Blizzaks and the M3's during the course of owning any of their cars? If someone on this forum said I had both and the M3's are by far superior, I would go with that.

Reason I ask is that when I spoke to a few reps at TireRack, many of whom own Audi's, they all said the Blizzaks without question. They said the M3's are great for cold, dry roads and decent in snow, but if you live around constant snow in the winter, the Blizzaks handle the best. They said they did a test where they brought 2 Audi A4's to an ice rink. One with the blizzaks and the other with M3's and the blizzaks held so well, the car actually screached when they braked. It also held every turn without slipping. Don't ask me how, but that's what they said. They said the M3's were much more slippery. Of course, this is on pure ice, which we all try to avoid, but I guess this would be considered the 'true" test...

I would believe that. I have had Blizzaks on other cars and they are a great tire, but more than I need for Boston. There are also two different Blizzaks, one is more aggresive WS-50 and the other is more sporty LM-25, which one did they use for the test?

damn good question! i didn't ask. i just assumed they were talking about the lm-25's, since that's the tire i was interested in, but good point. ok, you sold me on the M3's. since they're $15 cheaper each, per tire, i'll go with them. as long as they can handle really well in snow, that's all i care about. i want to be out playing with audi's on those snowy days with my car. i can't stand looking at that thing when it's just sitting there in my garage. it's no fun.

cmansbimmer,

Try this link from Tirerack's own site. The survey says: Dunlop M3. That said, I always liked my old Blizzaks, but they weren't performance tires, just pure snow and ice. I think it was the WS series. Good luck. (But I would get the aero kit)

Don't you think the poll depends on size that fits your car.

??? I don't think so ??

I may be wrong but I believe most if not all the tires in the poll are available in all the sizes we (E60 owners) would care about.....I could be wrong
