I just recently joined the club with and picked up an 06 550i and was interested in getting the windows tinted.

I have heard varying opinions on if the window tint interferes with either the comfort access or Navigation or not. I have searched the forums but apparently couldnt find a difinitive thread discussing this so I thought I would start one. Thanks in advance for any input!

Im located in Dayton, Ohio.
On my past cars, I usually do around 35% but those were with darker interiors and lighter exterior colors. The 550's color is black sapphire with a tan interior so I might be able to get away with it being a bit darker.

Don't see how window tint could affect Nav or Comfort Access. Comfort access is touch sensitive and the Nav antenna is mounted on the roof. The only possible prob would be the auto dimming mirrors...but I think even this may be a stretch.

Personally, anything darker than 35% is too much for me..too dificult to see at night. You might also have probs with law enforcment if you go darker than 35%.

The metallic film will interfere with the AM radio reception. The ceramic film will not. I have the metallic and have noticed no other interference. My 535i has the nav and sat radio.
