Bedford, what's the warranty on the 3M product?

I'll try to snap some pictures tomorrow after I clean it. It's been rainy the entire day here in New England.

My dealer tells me the 3M tint has lifetime warranty.

Go Red Sox!

I think some of us aren't using the % properly.? Above, I've seen the % refer to the translucency, and others use it for opacity.

Which is it?

Would 100% be total black, or absolutely no tint?

jtp1947 is correct. so if you have 10% tint doesn't mean the tint shop used only 10% darkness film. that means you can only see 10% inside of your car . smaller percentage means darker the tint .

I have been told the opposite as above regarding %. The highter the number, the darker. For 3M film, 25% is the lowest, then 38%, then 48% is practically limo tint. I guess, it doesn't really matter as long as you know what you are trying to convey to your installer.

The standard is: the lower the number, the lower the light transmission. 5% is "Limo tint.

We should also standardize on this.

Jimbo is correct the number is %VLT Visual Light Transmission. 5% darkest avail - 100% is clear. I will drive mine for a few weeks before tinting. Will probably go with Huper Optik if I can find an installer within 200 miles.
