If you are going through all this trouble, I would say why not put in the CIC idrive controller itself. It works fine and gives you a lot more functionality than the normal idrive. But otherwise yes even an LCI one will work fine for you.

It is not plug and play. The new one is lighted and has different button configuration. Plenty of DIY info around that shows how to modify the plugs and code for the controller.

Just to clarify the lci controller with just menu button is direct fit to my controller wiring and panel
And for the new cic controller I need to cut panel and plugs and wire?

Have these panels got cuts in them already to fit larger controller or is this a hole you make your self by guessing
