Where's the amp?

My Ride: 2009 535i, Sport/Navi/Premium
Where's the amp?
I have a 2009 535 with Navi and what appears to be the HiFi stereo (mids/tweets in front doors and rear package shelf, underseat subs). Checked VIN number with dealer and they confirmed that was the option it was built with. Question is, where is the HiFi amp? There is the tiny sub amp for underseat subs and the TCU but no other amp back there. Anyone seen this before and have any ideas on where it might be?

It's actually on the back of the head unit in the dash.

Just heard from the service manager at my local dealer. He confirmed Booyaa and said it was on the headunit. Guess I'll be running a lot of wiring between the LOC at the headunit and the amp in the trunk.

Yep the HiFI system is pretty much the base audio system. Most wire harnesses out there or custom systems you would need to run a set of wires to the trunk and then a set from the trunk back up front to the factory harness plug. I believe member Technics makes a harness for audio integration.

I may have overlooked the point of the question but the HiFi amp is behind the trunks left trim panel. Check out this thread by Technic, I think he is doing something similar to what you would like.
