ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.
No way a remap gives you 30+ bhp more on a naturally aspired 220bhp engine.
The only way you can get that kind of increases are on a turbo engine (both petrol and diesel engines) or on an M5 (which with a proper remap goes from 507 to 540bhp, which is a 6.5% increase).
A remap on a 530i will get you 10, maybe 15bhp TOPS. (which is also a 6.5% increase)
It DOES however, remove the limiter and some properly written remaps also remap the throttle response. (which give you a sprintbooster effect, so it "feels" much faster, but it isn't)
Turbo's can easily get more horsepower by increasing the turbo pressure and increasing the amount of fuel sent to the engine. On a normal engine, this will have no effect as there is not enough air to burn the extra fuel and it will run rich (which is VERY bad for a modern engine and catalytic convertor).

Don't know of a place in the states (well, Dinan comes to mind...), i did it at ZipTuning, but they're only in Europe.
