Where did you install your amplifier?
Hi guys - I am looking for a convenient location in my trunk to install a Helix MA 40FX. I have a 2010 E60. Currently I have a PP82DSP inside the left trunk trim so there is no room left. My thoughts are:
1) Is it possible to modify the left trunk trim so that the PP82DSP and MA 40FX can be stacked and also have breathing room.
2) I removed the OEM amp but that location only permits up to a 5 inch wide device, and these devices are 7 inches on their small side. Anyone get creative with that location?
3) Remove the spare tire to install. Don't want to, but seems like the easy way out.
4) Do I get rid of the MA 40FX for a Focal FD 4.350, which is less powerful but will fit where the OEM amp was?
That's where I am, so if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Also, it cannot be placed on the underside of the rear deck as the rear deck speakers were replaced with two subwoofers. Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you are using the type of subs that don't require a box??
my amp is mount on the back of my sub box but I would recommend have a carpeted piece of wood up against that back seat and then mount the amps onto that. You can drill a small hole to run the wires through the back to keep it neat. I think most of our trunks have charcoal color lining so color-matchin the carpet should be easy.

Thanks for the reply. I deleted my OEM rear speakers and replaced with two 11 inch subs. I finished yesterday and ended up building a two-tier shelf. Since I wanted to keep the OEM look, the left trunk tim has about 8 inches of height space when using 10x10 inch shelves. The DSP and amplifier were about 2.5 inches high each, the shelves were 1/2 inch each, so each device hs 1 inch of breathing room. That will be fine since there is already air circulation in the area.
Incomplete picture attached but you can tell where I'm going.
