When do I replace my struts and springs?
#1
So my car is going into the shop to investigate a pop sound coming from my front suspension when I turn the wheel and hit a bump.
This got me thinking...assuming it's a ball joint, lower wishbone, or some other obvious fix, I should be all set.
But if it has to do with the suspension, I want to be prepared. Which then got me thinking: When does it come time to replace the stock sport suspension?
I am happy with the ride...it's firm but not too firm, it's low but not too low. Perfect for New England driving as far as a sports sedan goes...
But with 90k miles on it, I can't help wondering, when do I replace the springs and/or struts? Is it possible that the need to be replaced and I simply haven't noticed to do gradual aging, wear and tear?
All advice is welcome, but I will note that I want to spend as little as possible. I'll also remind you that I DO NOT want a lower, firmer ride. Thanks everyone!

You can always get Bilstien Sports and keep your stock springs, they will be about the same price as OEM and they won't hurt your sport suspension ride quality. Contact Trinity (Nerweezy) they can help you out.

How long is a peice of string!! my advice would be, you can always feel when the car is getting tired so my advice would be to wait till then, there is no point in fixing something that aint broke!!

No clue. But to the original poster Koni shocks are also an alternative that I personally carry.

replace your shocks and springs with sport aftermarket versions and get sway bars. Your car will be transformed overnight.
You can do this for about..... hmm...... 2,000 bucks including labor?
Put it this way, these cars aren't cheap and if you want them to perform the way they should you gotta bite the bullet on quality parts.
