I recently had my E60 lowered, and installed 25mm spacers at the front and 15mm spacers at the back.
Now I know that this is quite a sensitive topic regarding safety, but as long as you get the H&R spacers with appropriate
length bolts you shouldn't have any problems.

Each wheel bolt will takes up to 1000kg of shear force to break. Our E60s weigh 1.5 tons, you have 25 bolts on the car, easy math.
After I got my spacers done, I had the aftermarket wheels rebalanced and the professionally re-aligned.
I can personally say there is ZERO vibration and handling especially around corners/round abouts have dramatically improved!

Spacers are a great option if the offsets aren't 100% perfect for the car. They give the car a wider look and if you stick with a reputable brand, you can't go wrong.

yes, some might say otherwise but even at 5mm it is recommended. why risk it IMO? the bolts dont cost that much anyway.

better look and less handling, always some compromise.
