Hello all,
I've been a silent member on this forum for about 15 days now!!! Not long I know... its hard to keep my mouth shut about my car. Anyways, I want to mod my 545i. However, I have a couple of stipulations:
1st I don't want to void the warranty
2nd I don't want to spend a lot of money... I don't want to double the cost of the car just for 10 HP
3rd I like to keep the stock look to it....

I did see a Sapphire black M5 being delivered. Now if only I had a sugar momma!!!!!
I think your only option (given your criteria) is to tint the car.

Some nicer stock wheels maybe? That will not void your warranty. BMW has a nice variety of stock wheels that will improve the looks of your car. You can check ebay for these kinds of stock wheels and they won't break your wallet. Or go for aftermarket replicas if you are in a budget.

Like ipse dixit suggested, maybe tint the windows?

Sounds like you need to move on to something else. Perhaps a nice Volvo.
Yeah, K&N is useless. And what good is a nice car on stock wheels?
I missed it that he mentioned a K&N before.

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.

If you don't want to change the look (that eliminates Mkit, Wheels, Dual Exhaust, spoilers..). Personally, I always think wheels can be improved and at the minimum, the M-kit side skirts eliminate the large flat look of the doors.

Any performance mods are expensive for not much - it is hard to improve on near perfection. I am adding a quad exhaust for looks and sound, not necessarily performance.

Dinan Cold Air Intake and throttle plate, $1500+ for about 22hp. Your call. For me, less than 2% of the value, what the hell. I keep my cars for a long time.

My suggestions are change the fog lights to a whiter light, tint the windows (at least the rear) and add a 3-M bra (you will thank me in about 5k miles).

From what u say you can't do much. You don't want to change the aspect of the car so this is a dead chapter and 2nd there is no way to improve your car, and i really mean improve it WITHOUT spending lots of money or WITHOUT possibly voiding the warranty. K&N filter. Pffff money blown away for nothing. Ecu remap...hey warranty remember? So...your case is kinda dead. Sorry.
[/quote]

i disagree ... i had a DMS ECU remap on my 545 .. I CAN feel the difference.... AND, I've had a service since and BMW found nothing.. warranty still intact. DMS were so confident BMW wouldn't find anything, that they even guaranteed to pay out for anything covered by a warranty, if BMW didn't!

they claim a HP gain to 362hp, improvement to torque, and derestricted top speed...
i haven't proved it on a dyno, but i can feel the difference .. i am VERY pleased with the result ...

oh, cost to me was ?900, on my drive service!
