I wanted to paint some exterior parts matte black, just wondering what brand and kind of paint you do-it-yourselfers are using to paint exterior body parts. Also how is the durablilty of the paint, is it easy to clean, and how many coats did you use? Thanks.

That all depends on the part you are painting. Is it metal? Plastic? I think CWS530 is correct with the high temp for engine/metal parts. There are other paints that adhere to plastic better because they have a bonding agent that melts the plastic a little to get a better surface... Most paint stores will be able to tell you.

when i painted my chrome pieces i used dupli color acrylic lacquer - premium automotive formulation (i took that straight off the can) I used this spray to do my front grille's and the top pieces of my chrome trim! It has worked great and is holding up! Any local automotive place has it. I used 3-4 coats on my stuff
