Just a thought I had... Since I will need to have my AUX port enabled via coding...What other items should I have done? I am assuming the costs to code 1,2,3 or ? items would be just about the same.
What are the items coding can turn on/off? Is there a list and description of what each item does?
I have a '06 530xi Sport Wagon
Thanks

Are you getting it done at the dealer, or an independent coder? If the latter, you should be asking that person what s/he is capable of doing/offering.
If it's the dealership, they don't code the same way as we do.

It will be an independent BMW shop. Can't find anyone local who can do it that isn't part of a repair shop. I think they are going to charge me an hrs labor which they said is $20/hr less then the dealer.

Oh geez. I suppose the Internet and the sharing of information really brings out what people don't want to hear. I recently sent a member to an Indy shop that charged him $40 to enable AUX and Bluetooth... for $40. It probably took 10-15 minutes tops.

Yeah I gotta say buying my own obd cable and getting ncs was the most cost effective thing i could do for my e60 (and probably the most annoying for Simon LOL......all the how to questions., thanks again buddy)

Thanks. I should look at getting a cable and software. I have a S4 avant and still have my VAG cable in the garage.
I dont't think the guy I talked to on the phone (owner not mechanic) knew what I was asking about when I said coding for the AUX jack. He kept thinking I had a DICE adapter.
1 hr seems like a lot but maybe it is a shop minimum charge. Maybe I'll get my oil changed and have them do the coding at the same time. Might keep it simple and have them do the AUX, disclaimer screen, and DTRL would be great if that can be done.
Cheers

As for the coding, it seems like he's not really familiar with out car. With that said, at best they'll be using Autologic, and I don't recall Autologic being able to turn off the legal disclaimer.
