Incorrect.

15.0 and 15.1 have the same changes and same exact software version for the E60. 15.2 is the same as well.

Im sorry but these are what the dealers 12/2004 TIS software shows as the software changes contained in Cip 15.0 and 15.1

Please see my EDIT in original post for which models got programming or coding

My contact confirmed that TIS shows V15.0 is main update but that V15.1 gave 5 amendments to it

1) CCC gateway software - China Variant > Programming
2) EGS transmittion software > Programming
3) MASK gateway software - China variant > Programming
4) SMG transmittion software > systems management data
5) Car access system > coding

OK, simple question. If one software version is labeled 15.0, and another software version is labeled 15.1, why did they change the rev level? Changing the rev level on software is only done if there is a change in the software. Of course they are not exactly the same.

The confudion comes in because all models software is contained on 1 disk

So the E60's software doesnt allways change from say 15.2 to 15.3, it might have been E65 software changes that brought on the new version

But the TIS is showing some E60 software did change in 15.1 from 15.0

Take a look at these threads and decide for yourself what you want to do:

I was (as before) trying to get people to not have to waste time taking their cars in for "updates" that don't really update. But it's your choice..

I agree with you its not worth going in to have it changed, as they were just small amendmants, and 2 of them were for China only, and most others just coding changes ( you wont notice the difference in those systems )

Rather wait for when they relase a large software change again

I think we need a BMW Programmer to join the board

OK, so you could have different versions of the software with exactly the same E60 program. I thought the software version referred to the E60 software only.
