My Ride: Black 2006 BMW 530i with sport and prem package, staggered 124 wheels, 50% tint, AC Schnitzer aluminum pedals, black interior w/ alum trim set, M style body kit and sound upgrade: Alpine PDX-5, PXE-H660, sub, MBQuart speakers.

I went to a BMW specialized performance shop today to see what they could do to give this machine more HP.

I already replaced the air filter, removed the charcoal one and installed the scoop. Other than that there's no much else. I was hoping they could come up with some creative solution to add 20-30 extra hp, but nope. I could replace the exhaust to get a mere 5hp, or even get a new flash for a similar increase, but those are very costly mods for the very modest increase in hp. So I'm pretty much stuck.

I used to drive an Infiniti G35 before this car and man that thing flies compared to my current BMW. Wish I had done more research before getting it and would probably gotten the 535i or 545/550.

You can get Dinan throttle body for around 300 with a core replacement. EvoSport makes headers for your engine, but they go for $1000.

You really need to quit whining. Sorry to put it like that but it's true. I had a G35 coupe too, but there really is no comparison. Look at it this way: you have a 2006 which means N52 255HP engine. I have the 2005 M54 which means a 225 HP engine. And you know what? I still love my car. Want more HP? Get the 550 - it's a FANTASTIC car, but I enjoy my 530 quite a bit and the ONLY replacement is the M5 - nothing else, period

Aren't you the same guy who said he didn't care about speed?
EDIT: Actually, I don't think it was you, sorry.

At any rate an increase of about 5hp from a remap is BS, you should be able to get at least 20 horses there. +1 for the Dinan high flow throttle body.

Thanks, I'll check those out, hopefully I'll be able to figure out a way.

I'm not whining, and I do love my car otherwise I woudn't even bother and get somthing else.

On a personal note, fortunately I was able to pick a wife who lacks no attributes, but for example, if she didn't have boobs I would be the first one to get her the nicest pair... for my own enjoyment! That doesn't mean I don't love her... The last thing this forum needs is complacent people who keep their car stock

quick question: have you tried DS mode?

also if you wanted something quick and fast, a coupe would have been a safer bet

I have never been a boob man myself, so I can't speak to that. However, I did manage to find myself a wife with few faults as well, and yes 34DD's are there naturally, so no need to pay for them. I agree that this forum has few members who have stock cars (aside from the Admins and the Mods that is - your car still looks great Rudy and Mark).
Comparing the 5 series to the G35 I don't understand, as I said - I had one (one of the many times I was going to buy a 5 series and got something else instead) and I ENJOY my 5 oh, so much more. Try the suggestions above for more HP (BTW, DS mode is fun and FREE!!!!)
