I just bought an ipod adaptor from a member. I have the CD changer now in my car. I heard that it is plug and play with the removal of the CD changer but my stealer quote me $322.50 plus tax to install and and to program to the vehicle. My idrive was recently updated.

DAMMMMM...i did it myself and just took it to BMW for programming. I have a 2005 and i think 2006+ it doesnt need BMW update, unfort. i fit under the unlucky category.

I've been wondering about this myself. But I think the diff is the adapter is just the wire basically that connects iPods through AUX IN, while the interface is the module.

wow 322? im not prepped for cd changer and my car is at the dealer right now getting the wiring done and interface installed for 200...thats a rip dude
