What airbag will fit?

My Ride: 2006 550i Silver Grey w/ Sports Package
I purchased a sport (round) airbag 32346776904 (pre 9/2005) on ebay. I don't think it will fit. I have a 2006 build 11/05 550i and an M5 steering wheel it calls for airbag 32346772989 or 32346780459. Before I return the airbag I want to know if I am correct in thinking that it will not work. Or is it all based on the mounting plate. Please help me with this decision.
