Anyone have good/bad experience with an extended warranty company to pick up when the factory warranty stops? I am interested but wasn?t sure how trust worthy some of the companies might be.

I just cross the 50k mark and was wondering the same after research I decided to not get any of them. But if I had to get one it'll be BMW extended, every one else wants the same cash,

I've decided to not consider the warranty. I can't get the CPO because I purchased the car super cheap from a fuel pump recall sale, and that is one of the stipulations. The pump has a 100,000 mile factory warranty but in 5000 the car is out. There is a certified BMW mechanic near me who is really great with hourly prices of more than half of what the dealers charge. And I work for the factory so parts are also a big discount along with friends there that maybe can help... I was considering the warranty but was talked out of it due to the price and the headaches involved of using it.

I haven't had to use it yet, as the car is still under factory warranty.....but I purchased the BMW Ultimate Protection Program for my '07 M6. Went with the 6yr/ 100,000 Platinum Plan which covers pretty much everything, including radio, navi.
There are several different options to choose from, including options for out of warranty vehicles.....seemed like the best option in my opinion.

I recently purchased an extended warranty for my E70 as the BMW warranty was going to expire at 50,000 miles! I went through Mercury Insurance where I got better coverage, no deductible and it was LESS expensive than the equivalent BMW warranty too!
Give them a call, but it absolutely has to be BEFORE the BMW warranty expires!
i went through the dealership and purchased their third party warranty, Zurich. it served me well. the only thing they didnt cover was the coolant hose. they did everything else. valve cover gasket, some seals, active sway bars, some blow out pump in the gas tank ( suction system for emissions?)and some other lil stuff. zero deductable going through the dealer i purchased from .
