I have a dilema regarding my exhaust tips, here are the options:

1. Use Anzafin's DIY and paint my stock tips matte black.

2. CF tips like these

3. Order the OEM BMW ones.

4. Have my stock tips powdercoated matte black, but I think that might be a little bit of an overkill, and I'm not sure how much it'll cost too.

I'm leaning toward option 1, anyone care to talk me out of it? And while we're on the subject, please provide any pointers/advice/instructions.

Thanks y'all!

I like the look of those exhausts, if I bought 2 of them would they fit over the outlet pipes on the exhaust???

you mean the ones from eBay? actually, I'm not sure they'll fit - gotta measure it.

I will try to remove my tips later and measure them. If I tap them from behind with a hammer will they come off?

Yes, just put a wooden block between the edge and the hammer .

v_therussian: Go for option 1, and if it fails, you haven't lost much. However, concentrate on it. Don't take it just "an attempt", or it will fail. Do your best, and I'm sure you'll be satisfied.

I replied your mail, but after that I wondered that maybe there is some pointers after all to get a nice finish!
- apply very thin layers of paint
- many thin layers
- follow the instructions in the paint can

Guess, you'll beat me to it - since I'll be only getting to this sometime this weekend - so please do a write-up or just post some replies in this thread as to what - if any - problems you come across.
