My car, like yours, was born in Germany, but unfortunately he also lived the first couple of years of his childhood in the land of sausage and sauerkraut. He's born with voice control but he's only ever learned to speak German! The snag is that I have not and so we are having some communication problems. So, my question is: How do you change the voice control language? Via coding? Do you need a CD from BMW? I'd like to avoid having any interaction with a stealer.

There is no Idrive option to change the language for voice input; at least not to change it away from German..

Hi. I have the same problem. Not exact the same because my lady speaks only Dutch.
I have: S868A NIEDERLAENDISCH //SPRACHE HOLLAENDISCH (ENGLISCH GB, FRANZOESISCH)
Is there any chance to change to English GB?

BMW can change it for you.. I had mine coded from German to English in Denmark ;-)

Is this coding done via NCS? Can someone help with this as my car is speaking German and we do have a language barrier

We should just learn to speak german and install a camera on the passenger seat. It would be priceless to se the reaction of the people watching you interact with your car!...

Yes you should be able fix it in NCS! Change the Vehicle Order to the appropriate region and recoding the vehicle should do it.

So changing the VO with some of the following will change the voice commands language?

I my case switch to $853 should give me English speaking slave Right?

Hi

Altering the SA code will not bring you anything , sorry , voice output language can only be changede by software update/change by an aut. BMW garage/service , you will need PROGMAN or ISTAP to do this.
