I have everyone to thank for the warm reception I received. DrLev99, thank you for the detailed insight regarding the sizes. I have recorded the specs for my research. For the most part, we can approximate the sizes needed, especially for smaller widths like 8.5 and 9.5. However, for larger sizes such as 9/10 and above, you basically start with an estimate and make adjustments from there. And as we push the envelope, people will be able to use bigger and bigger wheels/tires.

So as far as 20's go, what types of designs would you like to see? Something sporty, classy, combo of both, with lip, without lip, etc?

And... Would you guys pay more for an "exclusive" fitment for the E60? For example, I can make rear wheels specific to the E60. But by doing that, my development costs wouldn't be able to be shared with other markets such as the E90/E92. For the most part, it seems that 9/10 width is fairly widely accepted. But i'm not sure if its worth the time to push wider than that. Thanks for your advice!

And by the way, tires are on order... hope I can throw the 19" VB3's on by this weekend.

Give me P40 HRE's, 20's! Have I said that yet?

You could keep the fronts at 8.5" or 9" and do a 10" rear. The fact is that whether it's an E60 M5 or not, the OEM widths on the staggered rims are the same...just the offsets are different due to the wider rubber on the M5.

Most guys, if they had to choose, would put wider rubber on the rears and leave the fronts as OEM, so I think a 10" rear would be ideal for 20's. They key is finding an offset that could be used both on the M's and non-M's.

I'll figure that out later.....

Then I'll be #3

This week was a busy week!

1. We installed the VMR Wheels VB3 19x8.5 ET20 and 19x9.5 ET22 w/ Kumho Ecsta SPT 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 in the rear. Even though I went from 18" to 19", the ride felt much smoother because the OEM tires are Runflats.

2. Next came the Angel Eye upgrade, which is basically a high power white LED bulb that replaces the stock bulb. This was installed by Tom over at European Auto Source. (www.europeanautosource.com). One big note: The car has Adaptive headlights, so the light source for the rings are at the bottom of the headlight. We had to pull out both housings. If you do this upgrade, DO NOT turn on the car w/o the headlights! You'll get a nasty "adaptive headlight error" that clearing the ECU won't get rid of. We had to re-initiate both headlamps and needless to say, it was a pain!

3. Next step is the smoked tail lights. Purchased from Tom at European Auto Source. This one was a bit tough also... The ECU is extremely picky when it comes to bulbs. We were getting tail light errors that came at random. To solve this problem we took the bulbs out of the OEM housing and used it in the smoked tail light. Problem solved.

For those of you interested in our wheels:

- I've got 2 sets for E60 fitment remaining, for the entire month of June.
- I'm completely sold out of the V714 20x8.5.
- In 3 weeks time, I will receive a few sets of our VB2 19" staggered fitment, in hyper black w/ diamond polished lip

For more info visit www.vmrwheels.com or www.velocitymotoring.com.

Lastly a big thanks to Jimmy at Vantage Motors (www.vmotors.com) for securing this car for me. He's a good friend of mine, specializes in lease returns and trade in's. I was deciding between a '06 M5 and a '08 535i when I saw this 550. You can find a list of his inventory on eBay - user name vmotors.

Ahhh, its the end of the week, time to breathe. More parts are on the way

Is this a typo..20x8.5" V714's? I didn't think you guys made dubs.

As for being number 3, I think you might be like #6 or #7.... Looking good!

I'd like to see a close-up of the rears especially...want to see how the lower offsets look on the RWD CSL's.

I think C just wants to make VMR's "Gallery" again on their webpage!
