...and sorry ats, i'm no tuning expert when it comes to electronic stuff, but i knew that no matter how good a tuning box it will never get the same results as the proper ecu remap which i understood it's more precise tuning. Or i may be wrong...
I'd like to see the main diferences between those 2 alternatives of power increase.
Right said my friend, I hope Pattle will not have any probs but all my mates who has boxes from G-P, Asc, etc engine is bye-bye. A decent remap done in 1-2 hr, is reliable as what you normally cannot see and know the development behind is more than 20 years in case of a good remap do not think that DMS or HAMANN did it in 2 weeks They use their experts and enginers and then they do the SW, but a box to put in and out when goes to Service for instant...still detectable (also the others too) but the engine is wear out fast.

Imagine you need to do a Marathon, you drink many vitamins and then each day for years you go out running; now imagine that one day before the race you get some "miracle" dopping shot and do you think you will win? For sure not, engine and our heart works the same, we need to train both and let them get used to the new and bigger performance.

Or when you tune a CPU ok you boost it up, but if the ventilation is not good or if you go too far, you BURN your CPU, now imagine that was your turbo or engine of your BMW a bit costs more

You asked, on performance I do NOT believe in those bogous boxes, black boxes, get an M 5 or 550i or 535D performance for 100? , LoL come on no wise man can eat that.

Your last comment might be interpreted different though, meaning that the 545i would be almost as fast as this tweaked diesel/pardon chu chu train/pardon economy oil burner.

And remember steptronic absorbs +15 HP than manual/smg .

Which video did you want us to watch? It comes up with a blank (removed post?)

371 - 15 = 356

356 > 328 anyway. Depending on gearing, 545 may still be a little faster on some acceleration ranges (i.e. if it needs fewer gearchanges)

For me the link works. It's the video with andy545i's run. 0-200 in a tad over 18 seconds.
I still bet that the 535d remaped can do the 545i on the 1/4. Only time will tell
I saw already what a 645i can do versus my stock 535d. And the 6 is supposed to be quicker than the 5.
