Good count:
see my times before and after tuning

was done with a chronometer in the right hand:
Performance measerad before and after with chrono:
-------------before - after
0-100km/h 6.3s 5.3s (starting is second gear is better and gives less spin)
0-160km/h 13.5s 12.0s
0-200km/h 21.5s 18.2s
0-250km/h 43.0s 34.2s
I really doubt that you can get better times starting in 2nd gear.

Launch to Vmax = 1.6km = 1 mile. Covered in about 34 secs giving an average speed over the time to reach Vmax as 102mph.

OK, but how much 'till V1, V2 and rotate?
How hard was the wind blowing? IN wich direction?
What is the EXACT surface of the street?
How much profile was left on the tires and what was the pressure?
I am sure you can find a product for 10 Bucks that can do better.
Outside temperature and oil temperature?
How much was the total weight of the car?

You guys are funny.

LOL

I am sorry, but I can't stand it when ppl buy Diesels for better fuel consumption and then do stuff like this. YOu want the fuel consumption, leave it this way or go for a serious chip tuning what is not only looking for more speed/power.
If you want a fast car for fun, buy the real deal.

You do have a point. OTOH - anybody who buys a 535d is not exactly doing it for the consumption, is he(she)?

Iceman sorry to burst your bubble but man really i didn't buy the 535d because of the fuel consumption. Hell it's not a yaris D4d after all or whatever. I bought it ( without a reason to explain myself now but here goes anyway... ) because at that time i couldn't afford an M5, my priorities were different, and the 545i was not a target back then just because the 535d can be chiped to reach if not the same then almost the same state of performance, with a draw back indeed....it doesn't sound sporty but it does has better mileage so in a way it all compensates for.

It's like ticking a box of items:
Code:
535d base price 545i base price
+ -
535d stock performance 545 stock performance
- +
535d remap perf 545 remap perf
+ - (not even considering a remap for 30bhp or less because the NA engine)
535d mpg 545 mpg
+ -
535d sound 545i sound
- +
535d resale value 545i resale value
+ -
I think and that's all. Dear Iceman by drawing the line i don't wana say that the 535d is better than the 545i but FOR ME it was the winner. And if someone juices the engine with a remap and wants to have fun from time to time or tapes it just to see the improvements in timing what's wrong with that? I mean we are all humans, we most of the time want to see what are the results for what we payed for.

PS: Wanted to find a way to arrange the text and now it's messed up.

1.6 km on odo took 34 secs = 0.56667 mins

=1/0.566667 miles/min = 1.7647

= 1.7647*60 miles per hour = 105.882 mph

So the standing mile in 34 seconds averaged almost 106mph based on the (inaccurate or fiddled according to some) video.
