nobody was childish with you, you asked why it was important and a few of us chimed in with our reasons for it. Those reasons you either dismissed or didn't accept as valid reasons. That's annoying.

We get alot of people on here that do that, so having one less is always a good thing. If you want to stick around the forums, awesome, glad to have you. What you get from this forum is what you put into it.

Good luck with your choice and dont take things so personally.

no it wasnt because of his post count, it was because he kept dismissing my reasoning.

Since you haven't received a ticket since 1996, maybe you don't need a radar detector. In the end, get what you want. I had the Passport and got 2 tickets. Would I ever go back now that I've had the V1? Absolutely not. But hey, that's me. What the hell do I know...

Picture this: You're driving at night on a highway, a state trooper may be tailing you for a few miles from behind without you knowing. If you don't have arrow, you'd never know what is behind you and thought its a false alarm since the radar keeps beeping as you drive along. So, you speed up and the trooper tags you over limit. End of story.
Now thats a scary bedtime story!

I mean honestly when it comes down to it. Would you rather have gps and have false alarms dismissed on a regular commute?
Or the knowledge of where the radar signal is coming from?

If it is your daily commute after awhile you will know where the false alarms are anyways.
On the V1 you can program out the false alarms anyways. Which I dont do bc when Im driving I have my music alittle loud.
So I like to make sure I can hear my radar.

So you wanna have gps to dismiss false alarms or know where the cop is, no brainer

If this GPS is really so great, I would assume Valentine is working on similar features.. And the beauty of Valentine is that you can send it in with some $$ to get it reprogrammed with the new software! I dont know if Escort has similar product protection, but I'd doubt they would ever add arrows.
My V-One was my best car investment. The arrows help to notify you about multiple cops along the highway, "wolf packs". Depending on speed, slowing down sometimes isnt the best option when handcuffs are coming out once pulled over; its nice to know that a cops behind you or ahead.

I think escort allows rebates for returning in your old passports when purchasing which something similar, but instead you get a new one and a discount for returning your old detector.

Anyway, after reading up on the V1 more, I decided to get it and placed an order today and will receive it Wednesday.
My reasons were that V1 is more sensative than the passport so slightly earlier alerts and since I will use it more on the interstates, highways and tuck it away in the city because all the false alarms would annoy the heck out of me. It seems that the V1 is better for highway and the other is better in the city.

I've had a V1 since we used one in the OneLapofAmerica.

I am thinking of buying another radar detector though.

Another V1 for the other car.

Hope you enjoy yours... remember they are a great tool... but not a foolproof tool!
