So I took the CPO 08 535i in to my dealer today for a question. I have an iPhone 3GS and the apple cord that came with the phone will NOT work in my console USB input. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I tried 3 original apple iPhone USB cables and none of them worked(these are the cables i sync my phone with so I know they work). I thought it was the USB port, but the dealer told me that when they plugged in the "magic" BMW Y-cable, of course it worked. Why in the hell would they make a system that wont work with the original apple product?

 

So did u ended up buying the cable or the dealer gave u one since u bought the car without the cable?

 

There is another cable needed if you decide to use a iTouch or iPhone. Otherwise the standard cable will not charge the devise in some cases.

 

^ Just ordered a used one on Ebay. They want like 75 for it at the dealership... they can suck it. i just don't know why they wouldn't make it compatible with the manufacturers plug.. trying to squeeze another dollar out of us!
