Okay guys, talked to the mechanic and this is what he told me was done to get the 'extra' functions. All he did was basically what umnitza's pic (in this thread somewhere) showed. Take the red with white stripe cable off the extra harness and t-tap into the red/white harness on the ECU. My mechanic mentioned when you look at the ECU, there are actually two red/white wires. One is bigger than the other. He said tap the smaller one. I'm not sure if this is EXACTLY what makes my halos turn on with the unlock/lock buttons, but this is what he suspects.

Here is the pic umnitza posted for DRL function...This is for a E39, but it's the same. The red wire going to the ECU, should actually be red with a white stripe

That is for DRL functionality, not the fade, the brown wire is for the fade.

umnitza, did the 50W 60ohm resistor remove the error on your E39 DRL setup? Did you just solder it to one of the leads?

Uminitza -
Whats taking the video so long? Is it too big, so you need FTP so u can upload it to?
Post the problem you are having here, rather than pulling ur hair out, so we can provide solutions quickly

You should have waited on shipping DRL Harness, so you could have it pre-soldered with resistor to fix errors in dashboard/idrive
