I have taken the iDrive sticker off a few weeks after I bought my car and it did leave a sticky residue. However, with some Windex and cotton balls I was able to get rid of it in about 3 minutes. Hope this helps.

You can use alcohol and a cotton ball as well. I use that to remove residue from things of this nature. I have never had any discoloration issues by doing this. Best of luck taking it off.

How about 3M's citrus based adhesive remover? Might be a bit heavy duty for the fabric...?

I thought about removing it many times before but never did... I removed that stupid clear sticker with some warning on it on the top corner of the windshield... BOY did that leave a mess... took me a while to get rid of the sticky residue... maybe in a few more months when it gets dirty I'll attack that Climate control sticker... I need to know which direction to move the knob to enter my climite settings you know.

Never thought to remove both of the stickers (window and idrive). Just went outside and did it. Took a total of 5 min to remove both cleanly. Window sticker I used a razor blade and scraped it off. The climate control sticker came off very easily, just pick a corner and pull slowly. Comes off with no residue.

Well I haven't exactly try removing any sticker on my car, but for other thing that when I remove the sticker and it leave those sticky residue behind I would use an eraser to rub it out and apparently it work.? But only use those white erasers not those big pink sandpaper like one.? Of course try the eraser on the surface first to make sure it wouldn't leave any mark after rubbing?

Thank you for the eraser suggestion. I'll consider it.

Thanks Chorethorious. I may try the alcohol. I'll probably choose between it and Windex. At least I know that Windex has worked and left no problem area.

My wife had the same problem removing the windshield sticker from her X5.

Thanks boscoji. Given what I've read in the last several posts, I am ready to go again. I'll do it tomorrow morning and post back.

Does anyone have anything to add about Stream's post?
