Thumbs up

I've searched the forums but am not coming up with a definite answer to this:

I've just replaced my PS2's on the rear of my car (I have M172 rims)

I used to have 275/30 tyres, but have now changed to 285/30.

Neither the 5 Series nor the M5 owners manual list this tyre size and the recommended pressure.
Does anyone know for certain what the normal and full load pressures should be?

Thanks in advance

245/35/R19 (front) = 3.0 bar - 43 psi
275/30/R19 (rear) = 3.2 bar - 46 psi
For spirited driving, 120 mph 200 km/h + speed.

If you are not driving that fast, then 2.8 bar - 40 psi Front, 3.0 bar - 44 psi Rear, is good enough up to 120mph - 200km/h speed.

Thanks Nick.

I have 285/30 rear tyres though.

There is not any differense, you can follow the same path.
There's a theory that suggest on heavy sedans to inflate the tires -10% than the maximum pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire.

Maximum pressure indicator is the maximum pressure the tire can safely achieve under it's maximum indicated load.

those are some pretty high pressures. I usually stick with 33 front and 36 rear

That's what I was doing, I was stick with the car's suggested pressures and lost my right side tires and curved the rims passing over a pothhole last week, I would have save them if I had follow my tire manufacturer's recommendations here, here and here.
Now I have to pay some ??? for new tires and wheels and I will follow the tire manufacturer's recommendations from now on.
