Just had the Michelins fitted.

The difference is like night and day. The car feels more nimble and the steering is lighter (it was too heavy for my liking before with the RFs)

The car is quieter. The ride is smoother. I get better traction off the line.

Im 100% satisfied that i made the right choice in switching to non rf rubber.

Cheers guys

Excellent! Sounds good JayJay.

I have just ordered the P Zero Rosso's. Can't wait to get it feeling like a BMW again!

Congrats JayJay!

The Michelin PS2's cannot be a bad choice!

But still we have some members voting for Pirelli, Bridgestone and GY.
The size is 245/40 18"

Let the discussion continue...

I changed had the dealer change the RFT's for non-RFT's when I bought my car. They had no problem at all with it and gave me a spare and jack in the booth for free. I drove on the RFT's for a week and can only say they suck! Sorry, I have no other word. With the non RFT's I felt like I had an other car in terms of grip, precision and comfort.

I currently am on my third set of Pirelli P Zero Rosso's (245/18 and 275/18) I chose this tyre because it has been voted "highly recommeded" or "best in test" by German car mag Auto Motor & Sport. I can only say that this is a fantastic performance tyre (dry or wet). Only complaint is that tyre wear is a little high (could have something to do with my driving style ).

Don't be fooled by the Bridgestone or Michelin marketing blurb. Sure they do F1, sure they make great tyres, but so do Dunlop and Pirelli.

Guys,
Have done just 20,000 kms on Dunlop SP01 DSST(run flats). All tyres badly worn out on the inside(to the canvas). Took it to BMW dealer -didnt want to know about it, I now have to replace all 4 plus pay $200 for BMW alignment. Have heard that this tyre was recalled in the US. Have you got any information or letter from Dunlop or BMW about this tyre. Will help my cause.
Tks, Dilhan

I believe the swap-limit is 20,000kms. If you'd have seen the dealer at 15-19,000kms they should of acted.... The TSB is on this site - have a search...
