I was under impression the PS2 was the best tyre you could get for the 5....
JayJay, where did you find the ?160 fitted price???
They have 4 P Zero Rosso tires for ?580 fitted or just under ?600 and they come to you and do it.
Just worried whether my wheels will still be in one piece when they finish!

Mind you I won't even own a BMW until 9 weeks time so I've no idea how good the BMW Emergency Service is!
I was told I'd have to wait 3 days for a goodyear in 275/30/r19

Speaking from recent experience - they are great at turning up and fitting your spare.... problem is, the tyre's for the e60 are not off the shelf at Kwikfit, so if you get a flat without a spare not only is it a tow job, but you'll be off the road for a day at least.

Regarding off the shelf replacements for a damaged tyre, I'm hoping my lowly 225/50/17's should be more readily available in both non and run flat formats.
By the way, is it just me or do wheels seem to be getting bigger and bigger? When I first starting driving, 19 years ago, most cars were on 13's and 14's with the odd 15 around for larger cars. Now it seems that 16's and 17's are the norm, with the 5 series looking best with either 18's or 19's!

After advice from fellow forum members
I added the space saver spare wheel and jack kit to my 520d SE order at a cost of ?67. I may have made the right decision! I guess I'll have two further decisions to make. Firstly, after trialing the run flats until they wear out, do I go for non run flats as a replacement? Secondly, if I stick with the run flats, do I keep the spare wheel as a back up if one of the run flats shreds, or sell the spare and jack kit at a profit?

225's should be fairly available but you never know...

You're right about the size of wheels/tyres but to be fair the prices have plummeted accordingly... 20" seems to be the way to go soon
