In MA 35% is legal all around.
I have 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear windshield with a black interior and titanium silver exterior. I think its the perfect combo for privacy and nightime drivability.
I don't know how it is in SC but in MA unless you know someone who will pass your yearly safety inspection you are assed out if you go too dark. I've been giving crap before from the state inspection guys because their light meters were reading the tint to be too dark even though the sides are really 35%.
Quick tip if the light meter reading is coming up as too dark.
Put all your windows down, except the driver front and rear keep these halfway so they can read the tints, open the sunroof and have them check out the tints somewhere bright or sunny.
The meters are crap and can be manipulated very easily by letting more light into your car while being tested.

15% ceramic all around. I think it must be the ceramic....because it seems lighter to me than other cars I've had with 20% dyed tint.

38% all around. Dark Matter ceramic tints. At night its great, during the day its not dark enough. However, with a lighter tint on a black car I think its a good choice. If you have a white car, darker tint like 20% is very beautiful because it contrasts nicely.
