TPMS with either 166 or 172s

I was just wondering if the TPMs were easily transferrable to new 166s or 172s from my 124s? I talked to the manager at Goodyear and he stated that sometimes the offset of the wheel can make a difference when transferring from old rims.
Is he talking about the old style TPMs as in PRe-LCI?

you;ll be fine, I transfered my TPMs from my 124's to my 166's without a problem...just go to a shop that actually knows what they are doing 
Just make sure to reset your TPM's via idrive after you mount the 166's + TPM's...

The TPMS (not FTM) sensor attaches to the valve stem and does not interfere with the rim what-so-ever.
You won't need to do anything except re-calibrate the sensors as if you had a tire changed. Refer to your owners manual.
