Default Today I got RPi GT muffler ceramic coated.

Yesterday I received RPi GT muffler from Trinity. As I'm in process of my "getting rid off chrome & aluminum" project, I decided to get this muffler in matte black as well. I called several places that do powder coating, none of them recommended doing it. Instead they said the best way to go would be ceramic coating (as it is more heat resistant).

I found one guy in Amity, Oregon that does excellent job. Very easy to deal with, great attitude.
The best part he charges $50 for job like that. His website: STP powdercoating custom powder coating home page

So this won't crack or fracture with everyday expansion and contraction?

I think I would've just coated the muffler itself and left the tips chrome. One of the things I love about the exhaust is the etched "RPI" on the tips. Now it looks kinda generic...

By what they explained to me it should be more heat resistant than powder coating.

Looks very good mounted on the car, especially against the Alpine white...
