I'm going to get after market wheels/tires, do I HAVE TO put TMPS into the new wheels? if I don't, any issue? or any warning lights will go on? thanks.

Somehow you seem to have answered all of your questions within the question, no?

Yes, you should use the TPMs.

They can be removed from your old wheels and put on the new ones. It is not very complicated. They just need to push the old tires aside.

If you do not make the change, a yellow light will go on. It is annoying.

Yes, you will need to install TPMS or the warning light will stay on forever. BMW will not deactivate this for you, as it's a safety issue. I went through all of these issues. Good luck.

Compared to the cost of new wheels (and possibly new tires), buying additional sensors is relatively inexpensive so you might as well just install them so you have full functionality of the TPMS.

Yep, get the sensors...just make sure that if you buy aftermarket wheels and a tire shop puts the sensors in...make sure they rebalance after the sensors are put in..otherwise you will get vibrations.

When did BMW start using sensors in the wheels as opposed to comparing the speed of the spinning of the wheels in the same axle? I have a 2004 545i. Does it have sensors in the wheel or not?

Not sure any of this applies outside USA. Certainly not in EU.
