My Ride: On order: 07 550i, Jet black, black interior, steptronic, sports package, logic 7 sound minus CD changer, rear door mounted airbags, HUD, navigation and comfort access
When I get my 5, I need my 166m wheels installed and the thought of taking my car to discount tires or Pep Boys scares me. Any good tire shop recommendation or should I just go to the dealer. I'm planning on getting the tires online as it seems cheeper.
I'm thinking of getting some Falken Azenis ST115 because they are suppose to be super quiet with good dry and wet handling. I know a lot of people recommend PS2, but there's a price difference of $500 between the two for a set of 4. I was even thinking of getting the General Exclaim UHP, which are $300 cheaper than the Falken and it got pretty good reviews on Tirerack. General and Continental are the same company so their tires can't be that bad right? I'm looking for something quite and comfortable. Not into racing.
Generals $500
Falken $800
PS2 $1300

On the tires my advice is: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Why you would put a $500 set of tires on a 60k car that had great tires? The could have good reviews but I find it hard to believe that they will perform. I would recommend the PS2's or Continental Sport Contact 2's.
The car can handle some very aggressive manuevers, not that you are going to do that everyday, but even in an emergency situation, your handling will be determined by your tires.

I believe Tirerack will deliver to DPE Engineering (www.dpengineering.cc) in Long Beach, 562.424.3344. I had my wheels and tires installed there with no problems.

EF1 Motorsports in Signal Hill did my M166 and tire install. Tirerack delivered the tires directly to EF1 and the install and balance cost me $84. EF1 Motorsports, 562.424.3378, 2675 Dawson Ave., Signal Hill. I have had other work done there also and they do an excellent job.

Also try shoreline motoring in huntington beach.
I've tried calling them for the last 2 weeks, no one answers the phone. Must be holidays...
