Hello!

Just installed my 19 rims and I have a question, I can't seem to set up the tire pressure from my idrive. It says initializing and kind of stays there....

The new rims did not have any sensors on the valves.. does the e60 have sensors on each rim or is it monitored by an abs or dsc sensor ? If so, I'll either take off the ones on my 18 rims or order new ones.

Thanks !

Earlier e60s used input from wheel rotation to detect a tire problem. Later models had wheel mounted sensors. Seems you neglected to transfer your FTM or TPMS from the original wheels to the new ones. With out receiving a signal from the wheel mounted devices your car is looking for something that isn't there.

Unless you want to be bothered with the iDrive error messages you'll have to do exactly what you indicated - buy a secont set and have them installed or swap with the originals on your other wheels.

TPMs must be inside each wheel in order to be monitored through the i-drive.

Hello guys,

Thank for the input, I'm really confused, just got of the phone with my local dealer, and he told me that there are no sensors on the rims... The RPA/FTM system uses the rotational sensors from the ABS system.... I'm really confused, the funny thing is, I checked my old 18 rims (took the tyre off) and there was no sensors on the valve....
