Tire RackNo experience with the Yokos, but have you considered the Goodyear GS-D3's?

No problem. I'm a shill for the D3's because of personal experience and lots of miles on them. I've got them on the E39 as well as the Vette and they're excellent tires. The only complaint is that, being soft tires, they average about 15K miles

think i may try the yokohama's, i too like a good deal, so i'll check out the generals. i have a set of the yokohama at's on my jeep and they have over 50k mi on them and still have plenty of tread left. just hope they are that good on the e60.

I've had 2 sets of the Toyos but now I have the S.Drives...and only went with them cause I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my car and they were rated high at a low price. I didn't want to spend a lot of $$$. At the time I was over 50K miles and was seriously considering trading in (but still currently have it and now waiting for 2009 750s to hit the dealer lots.) I guess I would say for my driving style and the roads I drive daily, they are OK. On concrete roads with deep grooves (71 expressway) my car is all over the lane like I'm being blown side to side! On smooth asphalt or the new concrete section of the 118 fwy from the 210 fwy to the 405 fwy feels smooth as glass. On bumpy roads, they ride pretty good too, its just the grooved highways the S.Drives don't like. in long sweeping turns, they don't feel as confident or steady as the Toyos. I do like the agressive style as they look wider than the Toyos though. I can't recommend the S.drives in 20" sizes unless you want to save a lot of money and drive on roads without grooves.
