i do have a 5's with originaly runs flats so the car isnt equiped with a spare. shure enough PO put regular tires so now i would "prefer" to carry on a spare...
isnt there any available options on other series or model that would fit in there other that buying a 350$ spare at bavarian...doh....or better something i could take at local jy.

Hmmm...my impression is that the spare wasn't deleted until some years later. I ordered my 2006 530xi new and didn't order runflats and my car came with a spare tire. You might find one in a junkyard car. You might need a new tire if the rubber is degraded.
