for those of you in the So. California area, which installer did you use, what % and how much $ did it cost?

What % did you use on the front window? (if done)

if you want darker, you'll want 15-20%.

I've struggled along with radio reception/tint for some time. Here is what I have learned the hard way:

* the antenna for AM/FM is in the rear window

* metallic tint does effect radio reception quality significantly. I installed Llumar
metallic and had it replaced in the rear window with a ceramic tint to
improve radio reception - it did improve it significantly.

* tint in the rear window does also effect the opening of the trunk and
the doors. I had to depress the key button longer and more times when the
metallic tint on the rear window was installed.

That is strange. Tint goes on the inside of the window. If the antenna is printed in the glass, or even on the glass..... then the tint is inside of that... and should not affect reception.

I can understand the car remote control being affected because that signal does need to get through the glass to work.

They mostly are thinking about donuts, and getting laid.

Being a retired cop, I take offense to that statement. It's the other way around!!

5% is too dark for side windows.,.. it is alright for rear windshield.

With 5% on sides, you can't see out well enough at night to make turns. You made the right choice with 5% rear and 20% sides.

About the only thing that would make yours better would be 35% - 32% front windshield...
