A fender bender wouldn't be powerfull enough to make the pipes leak, and a crash severe enough to break the pipes must have been reported. So the only way for those pipes to break is if someone hit you on the unserside. Since that is impossible, your BMW tech needs to go back to common sense school.
yeah, i went back to the dealer, and grabbed my SA. I told him I wanted to meet the tech, and see my car.
So we went back there, but the tech was already gone, so we grabbed the Team Leader & another tech.
All 4 of us concluded that the car DID NOT look like it was in an accident AT ALL.
We're all gonna meet up with the tech tomorrow to see what he's blabbing about.

hope it works out for you. Have you noticed any changes in shifting or roughness with the transmission?Also, do components take damage if they leak some of their oil?

The thing is, the leak was VERY VERY Small, but the pipe kept rubbing against a metal box behind it, and eventually ripped more and more over time.
I've noticed my shifts from 2-3 becoming hard/slipping gradually over time.

One suggestion, next trip under the car - ESPECIALLY WITH A BMW REP THERE ... Take out a digital camera and start taking pictures. That may help manage their "attitude" a bit! And, it's evidence you may find handy if you have to take this thru legal channels.
One other consideration, if they still hold that it was damaged by being struck by an object, this may be a collision or comprehensive insurance claim - it's not only body work that is covered.

That is only for the tranny though right? Or do the other componets also have sensors for this?
Anyways, back from the dealer. I spoke to the tech, and I agree the car was hit underneath by some debris, and/or the previous owner had damage on the vehicle, but never filed for it.
This is gonna cost $1600 =\
Hopefully insurance can cover it.
