166's on sport package here, no drop (but I'm in a 535i ), I like the look

the drop, like any other mod comes down to personal preference....did you get M5 or M6 offsets for the rear?

GL with you decision

I would definately lower the car. I have a 545i with sport package and I first lowered it with H&R Sport springs with Bilstein Sport Shocks, but changed it out to KW V2 Coilovers.
+1 ... Do it

Can you post a pic once you get the wheels on. I have often thought of this if I got the 166 ones also. Not sure if it will need it or not. Would like to see yours before you lower it.
will do, as soon as the parts arrive. hopefully, i can get all done in a day.

so the M5 and M6 are different offsets! sh*t, a tech at Newport told me they were the exact same wheel, and i specifically asked about offset. that s.o.b.!
does this mean with the m6 offset, i wont need spacers at the rear?

thanks gene 'o! as previously stated, i had no idea the offset were diff between the two. and i had asked (so tempted to say his name) that tech about offset and he said rather condescending "they are the exact same wheel."

let me just say for future reference, if any of you are gonna call newport, talk to and deal with Garry, and ONLY Garry!

gene, so will i need spacers for the M5 rears?

NO DROP!

If I go over a dip in the road too fast, the front scrapes a little.

i have a sport package too and i wouldn't go any lower. it might look better but it would feel too stiff and might scrab the bottom on holes and uneven roads.

my reccomendation - don't lower it, Just my opinion
