Allow me to add a whole new level to this confusion of yours:

if you look at the blow-up above you'll notice that the roof on the e60 is one single piece...

Now, if you go HERE, you'll be able to order yourself some real dry carbon fibre and an entire kit to make a mold of the roof and make a whole new roof piece out of carbon fibre. Anything else would be fake and ultimately, will look fake too IMHO.

Seriously though, I have to agree with what most people said - either paint it gloss black or do the whole dry CF roof piece like I said. Doing a CF roof out of real dry CF will require you recruit someone with an excellent working knowledge of shaping CF molds and you'll probably need to cure it in some kind of oven, so it might be a LOT more PITA than its worth. Not to mention, there's the whole sunroof thing to work around. That said, dry carbon fibre looks GORGEOUS and if you do do it, I'll bow in your presence
agreed. A true CF roof would look insane. I don't know how I feel about the matte cf roof. I think the gloss black is a better choice. Maybe just skip the roof and get the Bentley

Steven,

My roof is gloss black and looks like the full panoramic glass roofs on the new fords. Not a great photo but you get the gist.

Took it to a valeter and after he dried the car off he cleaned the roof with glass cleaner.

off topic... but I went to the website http://www.carbonfibergear.com/direct/ that is shown in the original post pic, and it looks like you can get just about anything cf nowadays.. hahah.. Is this cf iPhone cover cool http://www.carbonfibergear.com/direct/clad...-iphone-3g-case, or am I just a cf addict?
