Hi dear members - especially to 545i owners

Just talked with ESS about the kit (under developement) to supercharge the 545i .

He gave me an estimation of about 450 HP but "the final power may vary" .

Maybe because the 545i is a long cruise car and not an M, so it needs to be reliable .

It will be released in "mid to late 2008" .

So the recipe to reach 500 HP should be make all mods possible to make the 545i faster keeping it asperated and then supercharge it .

The E39 M5 will get about 550hp instead . Within march 2008 .

These are all infos I have gathered till now about 545i supercharged by ESS Tuning .

Bye!

Alex,
I am impressed with your tenacity in trying to extract as much power as possible from the 4.4 V8.

At the end it will be the best E60 ever made, with 1600 Kg/500+ HP and a lot of torque .
Made by you, so you feel satisfied .

As you know, mod your car is a funny hobby .

Finally, it's a chance to visit northern Europe by car, coming back through Germany - I forgot to say they can install it in their workshop

Bye vegas and get a new BMW : we miss you!

I've been waiting for more than a year.
I talked with vf last month. They have stopped the project on 645ci. Will continue on the project maybe next year.
They also have to put the test car back to stock and have to do all over again from scrtach.
I aksked the guy if the system similar to 540i e-39. He said it is totally different.

Well, I think it is a very difficult project and by the time ESS or VF come out with the SC, I'm not really sure about the reliability until someone try it.
The Funny thing, if one tuner come out with the Supercharger, all of the suddern all tuners have supercharger. This is the experience that I get from E-46 M3. I think they are sharing the technology.

I talked with Noelle Motorsport, they already have the SC but have to upgrade the engine too. They said, The stock engine won't hold the SC. Price... VEry Expensive.

Well, I decided to order the DINAN CAI tomorrow. Hopefully it gives me some satisfaction.

Alex, any info on the M5 instrument cluster retrofit?

I agree. A 520i with 2.2 R6 for example will go from 170hp to 280hp with ESS kit.

Alex, any info on the M5 instrument cluster retrofit?

Ask to Andy, he is the expert .
The clear point is that the dealer can't codify it .
