Would you only be running these two speakers off the one amp.. what kind of watt amp would you use.. sounds like an exspencive upgrade just for 2 speakers..

Yes I ordered all my equipment Friday and should be receiving the gear 2morrow!

I am going to be installing a RF Punch 400-2 (instead of a P200-2) to drive the 2 - 8" earthquake subs under the seats, then I orded some Audiobahn 4" components for the rear deck and decided to use the HiFi amp to drive the rear deck speakers. Its not al ot of wattage from the HiFi amp, but it will be more the what the head unit puts out.

Honestly I was pretty satisfied with the HiFi system (at least enough to not rip out the entire system ), with the exception of the low end bass response, so I am hoping to get some deeper bass response from this mod. I am not expecting a boom, just richer fuller bass! Which is what my main purpose was, however I was able to pick up the 4" audiobahn components on ebay for like $80, so I figured I would give them a shot in the rear deck and use the HiFi amp to power them, so its gonna be a added bonus I think for a little more $$ since I got a good deal on the speakers and the factory amp was free.

My only thought now is whether or not I should spend an additional $50 on a .5 farad capacitor to help the battery out. I dont think Ill be adding much strain by the addition of the punch amp on the system, but I might just play it safe and add the small CAP.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Sounds good man let me know how it sounds. Can you get to those 8's without taking out the seat? Also aren't all the speakers connected to an amp in the trunk or is it just are subs?

You have to unbolt the seats to gain access to the subs, as for the speakers/factory amp question, only the Logic 7 systems have all speakers running thru the amp. On the HiFi system (what I have) only the subs are connnected, the remainder of the speakers are powered thru the head unit at 25w per channel.

I would definitely add the cap, especially since your going with a bigger amp.

I would wait on the cap, you may not need it. It can always be added later.

FWIW my 4ohm SWS8s will be here on Friday and I'm installing them that night.

Try this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350161006487&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
It says they ship worldwide and I purchase mine through him....great seller, fast shipment.
